Biscarrosse also known as Biscarrosse-Ville is a town in the Landes region of Southwestern France. It is 10km inland from the beach resort Biscarrosse-Plage.


They town used to have one of the oldest elm trees in the world which was cut down after the tree died. The town is popular with local French tourist in the summer months as it is close to the beach and a lake where people can do many water sports.

Get in[edit]

There is no train service. A bus named Biscabus runs regularly from Biscarrosse-Plage in the summer season. From Bordeaux airport you can take a bus to the Bordeaux city centre from there take the train which goes to Ychoux or Sanguinet from there you can take the XLR 11 bus which runs to Biscarrosse throughout the year.

Many new cycle paths go along the lakes and you can cycle to other towns and beach resorts. The biggest moving dune in Europe called Dune du Pilat is 20km away.
