Bayamo is the largest city in Granma.
Bayamo is on the Carretera Central, so buses pass through here from all major towns.
Horse and carts or bicycle taxis can take you from the bus station to the town centre. There are also regular taxis.
Parque Cespedes is the centre of the city, surrounded by old colonial buildings and with several impressive monuments.
Bayamo is the gateway to the Sierra Maestra. Take a tour or hire a taxi to take you to Santo Domingo, the start point for hikes to the Commandancia de la Plata, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara's old mountain headquarters, and Pico Turquino, at 1,974m Cuba's highest peak.

There are several casa particulars located in the centre, not far from Parque Cespedes.
Buses leave to all major tourist destinations.
