. It is widely acknowledged as one of the best preserved and most beautiful colonial villages in Colombia
. It attracts large number of tourists, and the village has now adapted to this, with large numbers of middle-to-high-end restaurants and hotels.
Buses depart regularly from San Gil terminalito located in Carrera 10 with Calle 17 between 6 am amd 8.30 pm (5,000 COP / 40 min). You can get there from the main bus terminal by taxi for 5,000 COP (10/18).
The company Cotrasangil sells also tickets to Barichara from the San Gil main bus terminal for 5.200 COP. As the bus left from the terminalito, they arranged a free taxi transfer for me between the two terminals (04/19).
