Get in[edit]

There are three ways to get to Atauro, but all three leave from Dili harbour. Atauro has only one wharf, in Beloi.

The Laju Laju from Dili, is thecheapest way, takes 3 hours.

The Dragon boat, leaving from Dili Habour, $13USD each way, 1 hour. This is the fastest way to Atauro.

Ask around at the habour for local open boat, it will cost about $10 USD, and will likely be wet.

The best way to get around this island is on foot, although a tuk-tuk can be organised to take you along the main east coast road between Vila and Uaro-Ana. Outriggers and small open fishing boats can be hired for trip to different towns around the islands coast.
