Annot [1] is a village in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Annot is nestled 750m up in the valley of the Vaïre between the Mercantour National Park and the Gorges du Verdon.

By train[edit]

Annot is on the line of the Train des Pignes, a private railway from Digne-les-Bains to Nice, with four to five trains daily in each direction. Contact Chemin de Fers de Provence, Tel: +334 97 03 80 80.

By bus[edit]

Annot lies on the Nice-Gap line, but the stop is at Les Scaffarels, 2km from Annot proper. Contact Autocars SCAL, Tel: +334 92 51 06 05.

The old village is a truly fascinating area to explore. The district also encompasses the hamlets of Rouaine, Les Scaffarels and Les Gastres.

  • Do the waymarked walk of the Grés d'Annot. The grés are vast boulders lying close to the village.
