Re:Den Haag[edit]

Hello.

Thank you for message on my talk page. I see the problem that you are pointing out. The reason of the problem, many subcategories under Category:Netherlands, is related to the source data used for category creation. Almost all categories were created from UN/LOCODE lists and hierarchy of the lists is poor; for example, Japan's list have 1 layer (Subdivision code) and Netherlands have no layer. Now I'm growing Japan's seed categories little by little, by hiding names of road terminals/fishing ports under names of cities/towns. If you have time, would you please grow Netherlands' seed categories little by little? At the start of work, I think it's better to put 12 provinces at the head of subcategories by using sort key like this; for example, Category:Honshu has in it and I can rewrite it to if I want to make it alphabetical order under *.

As to Template:Den Haag, though I don't know how it works in detail, general users will not use the link "What links here" to find Den Haag photos. I think it's better to create the page in main namespace rather than template namespace, and use <gallery> tag to show photos or make it redirect page to Category:Den Haag simply like the page Japan which has "#REDIRECT " in it. -- Tatata 01:21, 23 October 2007 (EDT)

Kudos[edit]

Great work on maintaining Netherlands' subcategories! -- Tatata 21:50, 24 December 2007 (EST)

Admin status on Shared[edit]

Hello Rein N.!

Cacahuate flipped your admin flag on shared. Now you can do a speedy deletion like that Peter deleted "Farming+gold in WoW". Enjoy! -- Tatata 21:25, 11 December 2008 (EST)

Thanks for the photo corrections[edit]

I just wanted to thank you for correcting the tags on my images Redbear's contributions

At first I couldn't figure out who had edited my images, or why. Now I understand.

--Redbear 13:17, 2 June 2009 (EDT)

No problem. I am glad you got the message how to tag. --Rein N. 15:50, 2 June 2009 (EDT)

Map categorizing[edit]

Hi Rein, I'm not sure what you mean by "Not all under M." Would you care to join this discussion on how to organize our map categories? It would be good to develop a standard procedure for map categorizing so that we don't use unnecessary effort going back and forth. --Peter Talk 01:07, 8 June 2009 (EDT)

By the way, great work getting all these maps properly categorized. That looks like a lot of work! --Peter Talk 00:47, 25 June 2009 (EDT)
Its a view clicks for one map, but there are a lot of them. Peter, I think, making maps like you are, is far more work. --Rein N. 05:42, 25 June 2009 (EDT)

Witbier[edit]

I'm pretty sure Wieckse is Dutch...? http://www.bottledbeer.co.uk/index.html?beerid=143 Jpatokal 21:49, 16 August 2009 (EDT)

Admin on fr[edit]

Hello! As you already know, fr is a mess. Since you are already active in the clean up effort, I'd like to just go ahead and give you admin privileges there. Would this be ok with you? --Peter Talk 20:59, 19 August 2009 (EDT)

Yes, I realize you are not proficient in French, but I just need help taking care of the spam & vandalism there! Realistically, given the work I already do on other language versions, I won't be able to keep it, fr, he, & hu clean without some other administrators helping out. (Drozd does a lot of work already on the Polish version.) So if you are willing, I will flip your admin switch on fr—just let me know.
Re: VolkovBot, see Script_nominations#VolkovBot. It is probably easier to get in contact with the bot owner there. --Peter Talk 16:45, 20 August 2009 (EDT)
I haven't yet heard you accept the position, but I went ahead and made you an admin on :fr anyway. I'll be away for a couple weeks, so I'd better do it now ;) --Peter 17:29, 22 August 2009 (EDT)
I have already used my new buttons, so merci (thanks) for those. It makes cleaning up more effective. Rein N. 05:10, 24 August 2009 (EDT)

Thailand Map[edit]

Thanks for the advice, I had no idea I was supposed to fill something in there! And yes, I speak Dutch, as I am Dutch :)

Zuid-Holland[edit]

Katherine[edit]

Hi, Rein. Last year, you marked Image:Katherine1.jpg, Image:Katherine2.jpg, and Image:Katherine3.jpg as copyright violations but didn't explain why, or provide a link to the originals. Can you elaborate? If you aren't sure, I would suggest nominating them for deletion and seeing what others think. LtPowers 15:16, 24 August 2010 (EDT)
