What happens

After the recent Mediawiki upgrade, diff now shows the changed parts with strikethrough and underline instead of coloring them. I find this ungood on any language version, and positively harmful for Japanese where there are oodles of horizontal strokes (二 is "2",  is a struck-out "1").
