Moved from en:Wikitravel:Fixed bug reports by Evan

User:ほくなん is reporting that he has lost his entire contribution history, as you can see from clicking this link. (Only yesterday's changes to the Travellers' Izakaya show up.) Users with only Latin letters in their name seem to be OK, but almost all with Japanese characters are affected: see eg [1], [2] . But for some reason this guy's contributions are still intact. Wow, man. That was really scary, but it just turned out to be more of the same data munging that we had with some other tables. I've fixed things up and it seems like contributions are now listed again. Sorry for the fright -- this has been an extremely annoying process. If you can, please reassure people that the worst thing that happens when things get "lost" is that Evan has to write a script to correct some UTF-8 encoding error somewhere. Data's not going to be "lost". --Evan 22:36, 2 May 2006 (EDT)
Whoops, didn't notice your response earlier. I've translated the gist of it and yes, things seem to be working now. Jpatokal 13:07, 17 May 2006 (EDT)
