Yellow fever is a disease caused by a virus transmitted by the mosquito Aedes. Its symptoms include fever, jaundice, bloody vomit, and death. A vaccine is available which provides immunity for at least ten years. Be sure to bring and use mosquito repellent if you are visiting a country where yellow fever is present.
