Wollombi [1] is a village located near Hunter Valley wine country, in New South Wales, Australia.


Wollombi is located at a fork on the convict built Great North Road.

Get in[edit]

By car[edit]

Wollombi is 29 km south-west of Cessnock on Wollombi Road. A very pleasant route, through picturesque rural countryside.

Get around[edit]


  • Heritage buildings, including the school building (c1881), former courthouse (1866), and general store.


  • Picnic in Anzac Park.



  • Wollombi Tavern - home of "Dr Jurd's Jungle Juice"


Get out[edit]

  • Visit the Koolang Observatory in Bucketty, 23 km south of Wollombi. Visiting hours are 12pm-5pm daily and most nights (02 4998 8216).
