[edit] Dialect?

So, I know of at least three major dialects of Spanish (Castilian, Mexican, and South American) and I'm sure there are many more. Is there a good choice for an "international" Spanish that could be used throughout the es: Wikitravel? Spanish is one of the 6 United Nations official languages; what dialect do they use? Hi, I'm new here and I'd like to help with the spanish version of Wikitravel, my mother tongue is spanish and I also speak fluently english and french, so I think I could be able to translate documents from this languages to our future version, would that be ok?? --wikiluque 10:00, 18 Jan 2006 (EDT)

That'd be fantastic. The thing we need today is someone to act as a "go-between" -- someone to keep the Spanish version in touch with the rest of the Wikitravel community. This consists of monthly (more or less) reports that can be written by the "go-between" or the wiki community. So, I was so excited about getting pt: going, and having heard from someone interested in being go-between for es:, that I've gone ahead and set it all up (see http://wikitravel.org/es/ ). The site is read-only right now, and interwiki links don't yet work. I got email from Luque that he'll take the job, so I've unlocked the es: site and started editing. I find the big fancy tables for the front page really intimidating -- I don't edit our Main Page because they're too damn hard -- so I've just made a "plain" es:Portada for now. --Evan 11:59, 30 Jan 2006 (EST)

Hi, I think I could help you for the Spanish expedition if you need. My mother tongue in French by I'm also quite fluent in English and Spanish so I could help to translate some documents from French or English to Spanish (I am studying these two languages at the university), but I also could create content in Spanish.
