Whangamata is a town on the Coromandel Peninsula in the North Island of New Zealand.

Get in

  • Intercity.co.nz 2 busses a day 7h50 and 13h15 (3 hrs travel time) Auckland to Waihi (Waihi is 30km away) 24$ incl fees (09) 623 1503 (wait forever on hold) 25$ at the terminal, leaves from Skytower
  • go kiwi shuttle 0800 446 549 - 73$ door to door Auckland to Whangamata.

Get around


Walk around the reserve at the end of Moana Anu Anu Ave (Whangamata Harbour) and another just off Pohutukawa Cres (Otahu River Estuary).


Go surfing on the beach or on the bar.
