Wadowice

Wadowice is a town 70km west of Krakow and five km west of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska ans 40 km south of Auschwitz in Poland in the Beskids.

Understand

Wadowice is a pretty small town with a late baroque church. Karol Wojtyla, the later pope John Paul II, was born there in 1920.

It is easily accessible from Krakow and Katowice by car, bus or train.
