Wadowice

Wadowice is a town 70km west of Krakow and five km west of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska and 40 km south of Auschwitz in Western Beskids in Poland.

Wadowice is a pretty small town with a late baroque church. Karol Wojtyla, the later pope John Paul II, was born there in 1920. www.wadowice.com -website of Tourist Information .

The birth house of Karol Wojtyla can be visited. It is a museum now. Also the church, where he was baptized.
