Wadowice is a pretty small town with a late baroque church. Karol Wojtyla, the later pope John Paul II, was born there in 1920.
It is easily accessible from Krakow and Katowice by car, bus or train.
The birth house of Karol Wojtyla can be visited. It is a museum now. Also the church, where he was baptized.
