Welcome to Wikitravel. Please take a sec to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.

I responded to your question on Wikitravel:Travellers' pub. -- Sapphire(Talk) • 17:36, 22 May 2007 (EDT)

I just sent you an email. -- Sapphire(Talk) • 21:48, 22 May 2007 (EDT)
I rolled back this edit because after I saw your edit to the Template:ClimateCelsius I realized that it'd be better if the margin was completely around the template. -- Sapphire(Talk) • 23:35, 23 May 2007 (EDT)

I've got no opinion on the Xi'an vs. Xian debate, but I've reverted the removal of the Xi'an redirect for now. Whatever the final decision about article naming is, one name needs to redirect to the other, and since the current article is at Xian then Xi'an needs to redirect to it. -- Ryan • (talk) • 02:23, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

The only opinion I have on the Xi'an vs. Xian debate is that I currently support it staying at Xian unless someone can prove to me that Xi'an is in more common English usage and convince everyone else that is the case too. PS: Anyone can move an article but we need consensus if there is a disagreement. -- Huttite 05:41, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

do, sleep, eat and the rest do have a special tag for alternate names, called "alt". Example:

* <see name="Beijing" alt="北京">A city.</see>

  • Beijing (北京). A city.

Harbin up for DoTM

Just wanted to say thanks for the effort you're putting into Harbin (and many more!) -- I've just nominated it for Destination of the Month. Jpatokal 02:24, 12 June 2007 (EDT)

Hey there Roger! I feel like maybe we should hold off just a little bit longer before creating more shortcuts, to make sure nobody objects and to clearly define what it is we're about to do... Some people may not take kindly to hundreds of new shortcut/redirects, so I just want to make sure we've got support behind us before we plunge forward :) – cacahuate talk 02:21, 16 July 2007 (EDT)

Template:Equals sign

Hi Roger!

What's up with this template? Wanted to make sure you didn't have an important purpose for it before I vfd'd it... looks like it's not in use :) – cacahuate talk 22:14, 30 March 2008 (EDT)

Hi! I don't stop in here too often these days. Nice to see you. The Template:Equals sign was, if I remember correctly, an attempt to get an equal sign into another template or something like that without it being interpreted. I don't remember if I failed or succeeded nor whether I used it in anything. It is okay with me to have it gone. Cheers! --Rogerhc 16:19, 5 November 2009 (EST)
