A little bit of a conflab going on here and here. I am sure you would have found those discussions anyway, but I am giving you a New Year's nudge :). Your understanding of these issues is much deeper than mine and your input would be very valuable. I have already devoted far too much energy to what I think is a needless discussion... --Burmesedays 11:43, 3 January 2010 (EST)
Thanks for your supportive comments on the London CoTM page. I am very happy to have seen the article get so much helpful contributions from users and think it was a great way to finish of 2009! I'm happy to do what little I did and look FW to helping with future CoTMs and articles...when people notice the hard work and say something about it, I think it helps all of us to plunge forward! Happy New Year!Zepppep 14:15, 4 January 2010 (EST)
Washington, D.C. neighborhoods map
Thanks for the recent update to the map of the D.C. neighborhoods. I hadn't realized my neighborhood is now "Kalorama Triangle", but that's probably about right. I'm writing to ask if you do have a larger resolution version of this map suitable for printing as a poster. I see last year you did upload a huge version, too big for Wikipedia even, and wondering if I can get an updated copy of it. Thanks, and keep it up!--Patrickneil 09:51, 6 January 2010 (EST)
Finally found some inspiration, Mind giving Copenhagen#Brunch a quick skim, something seems to be a bit off language-wise, but I can't quite figure out what it is that makes it read badly. --Stefan (sertmann) talk 19:51, 6 January 2010 (EST)
How to draw a map
I have finally had a go at completely re-writing this article to bring it up to date. I am very aware that some of my own personal map-making foibles may have come through, so please do give it a very critical once-over. I am sure though that this is both easier to follow and more representative of our current format and standards than the previous version. I started off thinking I would include instructions for both city/district street maps and region/country maps. That became confusing over-kill, so instead I have advised users to go to the regional maps expedition for specifics on that type of map. That is actually exactly how I learned, so it may not be bad advice. I have also included a section where any map-maker willing to help others with questions can sign their name. --Burmesedays 04:50, 8 January 2010 (EST)
Just discovered when making writing stuff about Khabarovsk, that it is the capital of the Far Eastern Federal District which this region roughly corresponds to, do you know if these districts have any sort of practical implications, or is it just red tape? --Stefan (sertmann) talk 15:03, 12 January 2010 (EST)
A minor point but the Hawar Islands should be shown as dark grey on the Qatar map as they "belong" to Bahrain. Great to the see the Middle East complete. Bahrain and Qatar are both remarkably uninspiring maps to draw :). Cheers. --Burmesedays 22:37, 12 January 2010 (EST)
Hmm.. I better should have seen that discussion before! I actually thought the whole Gaza thing was a mistake as it didn't have the name Gaza Strip (but just Gaza, which I thought referred to the city). Anyway, I made a map of Palestinian Territories, what do you think of it? --globe-trotter 17:27, 13 January 2010 (EST)
It says "Russia" on your Tajikistan map..! ^^ --globe-trotter 19:06, 14 January 2010 (EST)
Hey Peter! Thanks a lot! It's my first time doing this stuff but I've found my way around. If you have any suggestions, please tell me! I wanted to do this service to my country, as I couldn't believe a world top tourist destination didn't have an extensive wikitravel guide. I use wikitravel every time I travel, and I hope I'm making a good service to my country :-) Thanks for the support! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mfa88 (talk • contribs)
Why do you remove systematically our listings for Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Cork and Waterford ? But you leave online those belonging to our competitors: The G Hotel, Jury's inn, etc...
We are not a Marketing Agency. We are the hotel owners.
We have the right to get our hotels listed on Wikitravel like the other hotel chains. There is a script proposed by Wikitravel for that purpose: Hotels: *
We need to understand why do you do that. I don't know if I can leave my contact details on this page, but you will find my contact details on Travelodge.ie (Contact section).
Cotswold Water Park
Would really appreciate your guidance on this one. New user Tristan Thomas has been developing an impressive guide to the Cotswold Water Park (CWP) User:Tristan_Thomas/Cotswold_Water_Park. This is an important area in a region of England which I know quite well from way back. I am slightly at a loss to know how it will fit into our regime though. Parts are in Wiltshire and parts are in Gloucestershire. A large number of existing towns and villages could be said to be part of, or adjacent to, the CWP. I can see why he has used a region template. Will it need to be travel topic or is there a neater solution? Please have a look and maybe reply directly on Tristan's talk page where I have started a discussion. Many thanks. --Burmesedays 06:08, 21 January 2010 (EST)
