To respond to your questions, the first problem you had was that you placed the description within the alt="" tag, which is for alternate names, and which displays in italics. The description goes between the > and < in "></eat>". I have fixed this [1].
To add an image to the article that has been uploaded, see Wikitravel:How to add an image for a detailed explanation. The short explanation is: copy [[Image:Image name.extension|thumb|260px|Description]], but substitute the proper name for the image file and an actual description.
