Welcome[edit]

Hello, BigPeteB! Welcome to Wikitravel.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

Thanks for your contributions to Lexington (Kentucky). -- Ryan • (talk) • 13:23, 30 March 2011 (EDT)

My pleasure. It gave me something to do while I was on vacation there last week. :-) --Peter

Long vowels[edit]

Say, what method are you using to type the long Japanese vowels with a bar over them? texugo 12:14, 23 August 2011 (EDT)

I just use Windows Character Map to get the character and paste it in. It's tedious. :-( Or, if I know the characters are elsewhere in the document, I copy/paste them from there. BigPeteB 12:32, 23 August 2011 (EDT)

Hi Pete[edit]

Sorry to see you're "migrating" -- but we hope you'll continue editing here as well. They are now very different sites with different content, a major difference being that over at WM, your contributions simply will not be seen by many people. They have no travelers, only administrators. Here, you're helping 250,000 people every day who come and read and edit the best free travel guide on the Internet. In any case, thank you so much for your contributions, and happy travels :) --IBobi 15:27, 3 January 2013 (EST)
