Places I've been
I was born in Calgary and grew up there. Many years later I taught in the University of Lethbridge theatre department for two years.
I have spent more of my life there than anywhere else. I have had the pleasure of seeing quite a bit of this amazing province because I was a touring actor in a childrens' theatre company where we did a six-month tour. We performed for schools all over the interior and as far north as the Alaskan panhandle. We even went to some communities with no roads, you had to fly in by float plane (packing set, props and costumes along!!).
100 Mile House, Bella Coola, Chilliwack, Cranbrook, Fort St. John, Gabriola Island, Grand Forks, Hope, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Nelson, Oliver, Osoyoos, Pemberton, Penticton, Port Edward, Prince George, Prince Rupert, Quesnel, Revelstoke, Saltspring Island, Squamish, Stewart, Tofino, Victoria, Whister, Whiterock, Williams Lake.
I make a trip to Ontario maybe once every two years.
Montreal was a great revelation the first time I went, but taking a road trip to the many smaller towns, especially down south, near the border to Vermont, you really see that mix of French and English heritage.
Anaheim, Bakersfield, Berkeley, Beverly Hills, Death Valley, Eureka, Fresno, Joshua Tree, Los Angeles, Mount Shasta, Napa, Oakland, Oxnard, Palm Springs, Redding, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Ana, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Saint Helena, Ventura, Yreka.
Friends of mine used to live in Las Vegas, I visited a few times and had the rare experience of what it is like to actually live in a suburb of Vegas. Since then all my trips have been the normal show/casino/convention type.
I was there once in 1992.
I worked in Buffalo for about a month and a half in 2000. I make trips occasionally to NYC. I have also been in the SITI summer workshop in Saratoga Springs.
