I have '''serious objections''' to how the [[Wikitravel talk:20 April 2006|Internet Brands takeover]] was handled. [[User:Evan|Evan]] should have involved the community before making such a decision. His handling of the issue proves that he is not interested in the well-being of the community; Wikitravel, for him, is simply a commercial venture. Hello. I'm Nils, and I used to contribute to Wikitravel a lot. Differences with the Admin staff over their arbitrary interpretation of rules they set for themselves made me leave this site. If you are still wondering who I am, here are some links:

I am by no means a professional traveller, but I do get around a little. If anybody happens to wish to hook up with me somewhere, let me know and we can arrange something.

I have serious objections to how the Internet Brands takeover was handled. Evan should have involved the community before making such a decision. His handling of the issue proves that he is not interested in the well-being of the community; Wikitravel, for him, is simply a commercial venture. I therefore must encourage you NOT to contribute to this site.

If you are interested in an alternative by a democratically run non-profit organisation, head over to http://www.wikivoyage.org.
