Tyumen (Russian: Тюме́нь tyoo-MEHN) is a city in Western Siberia and the capital of Tyumen Oblast, a region of Russia. Tyumen Oblast is not just a region in Russia, it's the second largest region in Russia (after Krasnoyarskiy Kray) and it covers nearly 2000km from the most southern part of Tyumen Oblast (near the Urals) to the most northern part, deep in the Arctic Circle.
Tyumen is about 2.5 hours from Moscow by plane.
All Trans-Siberian trains go through Tyumen. Travel time is 36-48 hours from Moscow.
