Telluride Regional Airport is just outside of town that offers commercial flights to Phoenix in the winter, and year-round service to Denver. United and American Airlines both offer flights to and from Telluride Regional and Montrose airport. You can rent vehicles from either airport or shuttle into Telluride with companies like Telluride Express and Powderhound.
Public transportation abounds in Telluride and Mountian Village. It is recommended not to drive to most locations as there is ample free bus service around town, as well as a free Gondola service between Telluride and Mountain Village.

Ralph Lauren's Ranch. There are several famous people who have houses in Telluride, but one of the prettiest places to see is Ralph Lauren's Ranch while driving from the Montrose Airport to Telluride. It is at least 10 miles long and seems to go on forever.edit

Summer Festivals. Telluride is one of those towns that has a different festival every weekend over the summer. Wine Festival, Blues & Brews Festival, Bluegrass Festival, Film Festival, etc. They even throw you a curve ball and have one weekend where there is no festival at all - and yet they still celebrate it as if it were a festival weekend. edit
Snowmobiling. a long trip to Dunton Hot Springs in Delores, Colorado. People meet in Telluride and then are driven,along with snowmobiles, to an open field. Then you go through a winding path and find yourself opening the throttle in another open field. Then you get to Dunton Hot Springs which has a heated, indoor pool, food, drinks, showers, etc. You can even stay there overnight if you so choose. edit
Dogsledding. That is a fun experience. You never really grasp how it feels to live life in the Wild West until you have been on a sled pulled by 8 dogs.edit
