This article should be about the Town of 1770, not also about Agnes Water. Agnes Water should be in a separate article if it is a separate destination, or else it is an attraction of the town, or the region. - Huttite 04:18, 3 March 2009 (EST)
- There are many precedents for covering more than one locality in the same article. Never have two localities more deserved to be in one article that these two. From the traveller's perspective they are the one destination. --Inas 05:34, 3 March 2009 (EST)
There are three alternatives for the name of this article: Seventeen Seventy, 1770 and (The) Town of 1770. Because the name of the town is also a year, it is not clear what the most common English name is. However, this media article suggests the name is likely to be 1770, instead of Seventeen Seventy, while (The) Town of 1770 seems to be used on road signs, etc. to avoid confusion with distances. - Huttite 04:18, 3 March 2009 (EST)
- The gazetted name is Seventeen Seventy. Many descriptions use the Town of 1770, so it doesn't look like a number. Its known in conversation with locals as the Town of 1770, 1770 and just Agnes Water. I think I have got the balance right, by naming the article Town of 1770, and putting the other common name, and the gazetted name in as redirects. Do you have another suggestion? --Inas 05:34, 3 March 2009 (EST)
