I visited this site to get information about Bali. What I have found is that this page is of date. Example pre paid taxis from airport are
150,000 not 95,000. Secondly Sanur is a lot cheaper than Kuta. Example food at restruarants are 10% to 15% cheaper. Massages for one hour
full body 50,000.

Negotiate driver and good car for 10 hours is 250,000 but average is 8 hors for 250,000. As all over Bali the first price quoted will be 500,000 or even as high as 600,000. Still a lot of Europeans go there as it states. We stayed in Sanur for 2 weeks, our 20th trip to Bali. We are presently in Lovina in the the North where there are no taxis but driver and cars for hire. Massages 75,000. Do not go to Lovina for shopping girls, nothing here but sarongs etc ( try Seminyak or wait til you get home ). But Lovina which is NOT as they say 3 hours from airport but just over 2 hours with normal Bali traffic. Gee takes 20/25 minutes to get to Seminyak from airport. Spend that extra little over 1.5 hours drive and enjoy swimming with Dolphins or seeing them in the wild for 60,000 by boat. The sea is flat and I mean flat. Food is cheaper here, restuarants are cheaper locals are more friendlier and you are not hassled on the street. Why because the sellers are not there on the street but they will meet you on the beach at your hotel. We rented at the Aditya Hotel for August one week for $93 p/n in ocean front deluxe room w/- breakfast. Now we have a Villa, ocean front, with pool for 4 weeks in September at $750 a week.Includes maids to cook for us and security if we want from 6pm to 6am included in the price. The maid will buy us the food we want at local prices not supermarket because it is fresh. The chicken, cow, pig is slaughtered the night before the morning she buys it. Fillet eye steak (tender loin) is 1/3rd the price of Australia. So makes living in a Villa not only private but cost saving. Check out the sights of Lovina. Oh yeh 15 mins East is Singaraja is the 2nd largest city in Bali and reminds me of Denpassar. The 3rd largest city is Seririt, 15 mins West from Lovina is good to visit also. By the way,the waters edge 50 metres away from the Villa. Sorry about the rambling but the main reason I commented on this site is that to advise people that it is "out of date" I am guessing but the information is probably 10 to 15 years out of date.

Cheers Peter
