Québécois French is no more a "variant" form of French as American English is a variant of British English. This common error strikes us Québécois as an insult. Apart form a few lexical differences, what distingues our French from French-from-France, exactly like Americans speak English with an... american accent... Please correct this wrong impression of our language, French, which is our pride and which we cherish and protect surrounded by 300 million English speakers...
