Bad News

Hi all... I'm starting to wonder if we should maybe suspend the travel news section of the Main Page for a while, until somebody really really wants it back. It was a great idea, but sadly we just don't seem to have the resources to keep it current. As it is most of the stuff we're publishing as travel news is widely available from other sources. What do you all think? -- Mark 04:02, 14 Aug 2005 (EDT)

Mm. I'd like to see more emphasis on travel news that don't make the headlines: new airports and airlines, major festivals and events starting or ending, that sort of thing. This is still useful and not all that time-critical (eg. if there's a new airport open, it'll probably stay open). Jpatokal 23:22, 14 Aug 2005 (EDT)
Yes! That would be terrific! I'm afraid though that it looks like we don't have enough up-to-the-minute info gatherers to keep the news up-to-date at least for now. Again, I still think it's a great idea but it just doesn't seem to be working out for now. -- Mark 01:22, 15 Aug 2005 (EDT)
