Charlotte should have a map before it becomes a star article. Now: I do enjoy creating maps but I have never been to Charlotte, and I am hesitant to create maps for places I have not been to and am not familiar with. That said, if no one else wants to do the map(s) I can do it next week.

Again, I am not familiar with Charlotte, but I would propose an overview map of the metro area for the main page and also a detail of Charlotte/Uptown to start with. Does this seem reasonable? What area does the overview map need to cover? Everything within the I-485 ring? If no one else wants to do the map then it would be great if a local could answer the questions I have raised above, and please leave a note on my talk page as I may forget to check back here in a reasonable timeframe. bulliver 18:48, 31 July 2007 (EDT)

I think that using the 485 loop is a pretty good idea, maybe others would say all of Mecklenburg County would work also. But, I'm not a native, so others may say otherwise. If nobody else says anything, I'd go with inside the 485 loop. Willow 14:06, 2 August 2007 (EDT)

Awesome work to all the contributors of Charlotte! It is truely an amazing article! Keep smiling, Edmontonenthusiast 19:16, 27 October 2008 (EDT)

I read here the map was created by an awesome volunteer and wanted to focus on the inner part of the city. I'm hoping to find someone who can help me find what districts exist beyond this middle area. I'd like to know what district the airport is in, for example, which will help the Sleep section get better organized. I checked the official tourist site of Charlotte but the maps didn't go that far west. Zepppep 22:27, 16 November 2009 (EST)

As of now, the areas in light grey are simply not covered by Wikitravel. I believe User:Bruinsbuddy42 came up with the districts initially, and I created the map based on his guidance here. Back at that time, we didn't have a methodical way of dealing with districts breakdowns (today, it's policy that there should be no gaps left when breaking a city into districts). Long story short, we'll need to come up with a new scheme, based on the existing one, before anyone will be able to answer your question! I'll be happy to help revise the map and work on a new scheme, but I've never been to the city, so my ability to help create a new scheme will be limited. --Peter Talk 15:34, 18 November 2009 (EST)
Thanks for telling me a bit about this. I've gone ahead and put the listings in their district articles as best I know how (thank you Google maps). I created a few new subsections, Airport and Carowinds, but am glad to see the article a bit cleaner now than before I got here. I wouldn't feel too guilty about not expanding the map or naming unknown districts--if the tourism board or those with the know-how haven't bothered to do so, I feel no pain. :) Zepppep 16:21, 18 November 2009 (EST)

Bus Fare UpdateEdit

I just rode Charlotte Area Transit and noted that the new fare for the bus is $1.75, rather than the $1.50 noted on this site. i'd update the article, but cannot do so from my phone's crippled browser. Can I impose on one of you more technologically adept individuals to do it for me? Thanks. TheInfamousJ 10:35, 02 October 2011 (EDT)

Done, thanks for the update! --Peter Talk 14:24, 2 October 2011 (EDT)
