I (a British male) went alone and found most of the beach boys to be fake. After 3hrs, I seemed to have made very many "friends" who were offering me "friend prices" for this and that. However, I met a really genuine beach boy called Simon (soon to be village chief) and their genuine family. He was a real needle in a haystack. He was very warm hearted and wasn't after money in the same way as the other guys, offering me a true Cape Maclear experience. Ask for him if you come here, and everyone will know him.
