Sumy is a lovely city in Central Ukraine.
Sumy was founded in the 17th century by cossaks as fortess. During long period of time city was one of the centers in Slobozhanschina (historical province between Russia and Ukraine). Now Sumy is a centre of provice (oblast).

Regular comfortable minibuses (marshrutkas) from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk. You can use it by 2 ways: 1) call to the bus-company for booking place in the mini-bus (+380542600089 to Elit-express, +380509339093 to Sun-auto) 2) go to the place of departing and ask driver about free places. In Kyiv it is close from central railway station (to the left after exiting from the main entrance). You should seek minibus (Mercedes or Volkswagen) with russian tablet "Сумы"

Putyvl - During the Second World War Soviet partisans led by Sydir Kovpak started their guerrilla war against the Germans in the forests near Putyvl. The main architectural monument of Putivl is the Molchansky Monastery, which is largely of 17th century date.
