Strömstad is a city in Bohuslän on the west coast of Sweden, close to the Norwegian border. While only home of 6000 people, it is for historical reasons often referred to as a city.
Timeekspressen has 6 daily departures to Oslo, leaving on top of the hour, every two hours between 8 and 16. Swebusexpress buses also stops here on their Göteborg - Oslo route.
There is about 4-5 daily departures to Göteborg by Västtrafik. In the summer the Swedish Railways (SJ) runs a X2000 express train to Stockholm twice a day.
There are serveral ferry's every day across Oslofjord to Sandefjord in Norway with a Color line ferry. The previous connection to Langesund was discontinued in December 2008. Ferries also connect Strömstad to the cross-border national park archipelago of Koster and Hvaler, as well as the larger city of Fredrikstad.
