The Small Isles lie just off the West coast of mainland Scotland in the Inner Hebrides.

The Islands[edit]

Get in & around[edit]

  • From Mallaig: CalMac operates to and between the islands most days, with a slightly more frequent service in summer. Although the ferry carries cars, vehicles are not allowed on board without a permit issued by the respective authority as shown in the timetable. These are usually only given to islanders, service vehicles and those with a genuine reason for needing a vehicle (such as film crews, musicians e.t.c).
  • From Arisaig: the MV Sheerwater, a small but comfortable foot passenger ferry with indoor and outdoor seating and a small tuck shop, operated by Arisaig Marine, runs daily from May to September to Eigg, Muck and/or Rum.
