Slagelse is a traffic hub for western Zealand. There are many busses.


Slagelse is on the main Copenhagen-Jutland line with two trains an hour in each direction.

Slagelse is on the Slagelse-Høng-Tølløse private line.

  • Trelleborg Viking Fortress. [1] Trelleborg Allé 4, Hejninge 5 km. west of the city of Slagelse, tel; +45 58549506. Email: trelleborg@vestmuseum.dk. Open April-May: Sa-Th 10am to 4 Pm, Jun-Aug: Sa-Th 10am to 5pm, Sep-Oct:Sa-Th 10am to 4 Pm. Entrance DKK 50. Trelleborg is the remains of one of the big Viking ring fortresses constructed ca 980 AD.




  • Cafe Mikkel, Nytorv 5 next to Mikkels church, tel: +45 58581366. Cafe with good food for lunch and brunch. Located in long narrow room with white archs that once belonged to the church.
