Skipness is a small village on the east coast of Kintyre in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Get inBy boatCalMac [1] runs a ferry service from Lochranza on the Isle of Arran to nearby Claonaig every 1¼ hours daily between March and October. Turn right when you get off the ferry. By carTake the A83 then the B8001 to Skipness. Or take the B842 then the B8001 if you are coming from the south and east of Kintyre, as it's a much more scenic route than the A83. By busThe West Coast Motors 448 bus runs from Lochgilphead and Tarbert to Claonaig and Skipness three times a day Monday to Saturday. Check timetables on the West Coast Motors website [2]. DrinkSkipness Seafood Cabin is licenensed and is very reasonably priced. SleepJust wildcamp just off the Skipness - Claonaig road. Nobody minds (at least for a night), and besides, it's free. Get outTarbert (Loch Fyne) and Campbeltown are good day trips from Skipness. Or even better, Arran, of course!
