Skipness

Skipness is a small village on the east coast of Kintyre in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Get in By boat CalMac [1] runs a ferry service from Lochranza on the Isle of Arran to nearby Claonaig every 1¼ hours daily between March and October. Turn right when you get off the ferry. By car Take the A83 then the B8001 to Skipness. Or take the B842 then the B8001 if you are coming from the south and east of Kintyre, as it's a much more scenic route than the A83. By bus The West Coast Motors 448 bus runs from Lochgilphead and Tarbert to Claonaig and Skipness three times a day Monday to Saturday. Check timetables on the West Coast Motors website [2]. Get around Skipness is a small village, and it is easy to get about by walking. See Skipness Castle and Chapel - owned by Historic Scotland. Free to get in. Great views of Arran! Do Relax, go for a walk and enjoy the view! Eat The Seafood Cabin - open from May to September. Excellent food, but very pricey! A seafood platter costs £17.50, but it is well worth it! Open from 11am to 7pm and closed on Saturdays. Skipness Village Stores - also offers sandwiches, tea, coffee and homebaking. Closed Tuesday afternoons and Sundays. Drink Skipness Seafood Cabin is licenensed and is very reasonably priced. Sleep Just wildcamp just off the Skipness - Claonaig road. Nobody minds (at least for a night), and besides, it's free. Get out Tarbert (Loch Fyne) and Campbeltown are good day trips from Skipness. Or even better, Arran, of course! This article is an outline and needs more content.
