Sitamarhi

Sitamarhi is a city in the northern part of Bihar in India. A part of Gangetic Plains of north India, Sitamarhi is located around 50 km from Nepal. The city and places around are very active culturally and politically but one of the poorest in India based on almost all social indicators.

Get in

Sitamarhi is well connected to other parts of India and Bihar through a network of railway lines and roads.

By plane

The nearest airport is in Patna 120 km away. Patna airport is serviced by major domestic airlines like Indian, Jet Airways and Air Deccan. There are direct flights to Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Kathmandu and Varanasi from Patna airport.

By train

There are direct trains from Darbhanga and Narkatiaganj, which connects further to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Patna and many other cities in the country and one train lichhvi started from Delhi to Sitamarhi via Kanpur, Varanasi, Balia, Samastipur, and Darbhanga.

By bus

Sitamarhi is on the National Highway map of India with NH 77 connecting it with other parts of the country. There are buses every 15 minutes for Patna (5.5-6 hrs) and Muzaffarpur (1.5-2 hrs).

Get around

Most reliable and easily available local transport is cycle rickshaw. You can also get shared three-wheelers and buses from the railway and bus terminal. sitamarhi is a small city and you can easily walk around and see places of attraction.

  • Sujatpur: 8 kms from Pupri on madhwapur road. A proposed girl's high school is coming up. Has one of the oldest middle schools in Bihar. Choraut is 5 kms from here.
  • Pipra Khurd : 18n km Norh East to sitamarhi. It is place where maximum public listening BBC News and having maximum educated people.

Buy

Apart of the local markets and shops two of the complexes "JANKI COMPLEX", "SHANKAR COMPLEX" are very famous. Sitamarhi is very famous for Designer jewellery's easily available at SONA PATTI.

Thier are many fast food corners all accross the city, Some famous hang outs for food: blue diamond at mahanth shah cauraha. Krishana Sweets at by pass chowk. Surly visit some ISTOO HOUSE for some ultimate chicken and other nonveg items near NUTAN CINEMA
