Silimbong is a little hamlet situated in one of the most beautiful hill forests in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal in India. Situated in the densest of forests, it is far from the madding crowd. Electricity and hence disturbing elements like the TV etc., cannot be found here. It only pure nature. The light of civilisation is yet to touch and spoil the nature here, though hospitality from the 4/5 families that resides here is overwhelming and natural.
The West Bengal Forest Development Corporation has shown this place in their tourist map since August 2007. The result of a forestation project by WDFDC. Roaming in the Jungles here reveals how much effort has been put in to give back Earth one of its lost possessions, the forest. Among the dense forest, a very small portion of land has been cleared to accommodate you and your family only.
For the rest of your trip you will need to get yourself a car. Get yourself a nice car depending on the number of team members. Make sure you get a dry car, filling in the fuel yourself. This will actually save you some money.
