Sanuki(さぬき) is a city in Kagawa prefecture.
Sanuki City is a collection of five towns (Shido, Tsuda, Nagao, Sangawa, and Okawa) only incorporated since 2002.
The closest airport is the Takamatsu Airport located south of Takamatsu. From there you can either take an expensive taxi into the city (about 4,700 yen) or the Kotoden airport limousine bus to JR Takamatsu Station (740 yen) and then take the train east to Sanuki.
One of the easiest ways to get to Sanuki is by train. JR Shikoku's Kotoku line runs straight through Sanuki on its way from Takamatsu to Tokushima. The Shido (志度), Orange Town (オレンジタウン), Zoda (造田), Kanzaki (神前), Sanuki-Tsuda (讃岐津田), and Tsuruwa (鶴羽)stations are all located in Sanuki City. A local train usually takes anywhere from 45 to 75 minutes from Takamatsu and is a little over 500 yen. Express trains always stop at Shido Station, sometimes stop at Orange Town and Sanuki-Tsuda, and never stop at the other stations, so always check which stations your express train will be stopping at. Express trains take about 30 minutes from Takamatsu and cost about double the price of the local train.
There are about 2 to 3 trains to and from Takamatsu every hour except during peak commuting times.
