San Antonio Palopo is an authentic Mayan town with very few of the tourist trappings nor traffic. It's known for it's ceramics and it's beautiful but simple native dress (Traje). The villagers are cautious but will great your smile with an even bigger one. There's two restaurants/hotels that service travellers and a bed and breakfast that also includes use of a kayak.
