The Saint John River Valley in New Brunswick, Canada, follows the Saint John River along the western border with Maine. The valley features historic wooden covered bridges, river ferries, falls, as well as artist studios and historic sites.

The entire province is officially bi-lingual. Native French-Arcadians live in the northern part of the valley near the border of of the USA and Maine. Almost all French speakers speak English. Many English speakers have a basic command of French outside the Arcadian areas in the south of the valley but are no where near fluent. Depending on the native language of your region its best to first address the person you are talking to in that language first out a sign of courtesy with a simple "hello" or "bonjour".
