Some towns and villages in the Jæren area: Randaberg, Tananger, Sola, Sandnes, Ganddal, Orre, Bore, Voll, Øksnavad, Kvernaland, Orstad, Klepp, Bryne, Nærbø, Varhaug, Vigrestad and Brusand. Other villages south of Jæren: Ogna, Sirevåg and Hellvik.
The largest town is Stavanger, well known as an oil-town. Due to the oil, the town is very international. The town also have the newest university in Norway (founded in 2004).
Close to Haugesund is the island Karmøy (which means "the island that gives shelter from the open sea") known for the Vikings. It is this fairway that has given Norway it's name.
Rogaland is as safe as the rest of Norway, if not even safer.
