THE REUS MODERNIST TRAIL
Domènech's style was certainly influential in the other Modernist buildings which were constructed in Reus from that time on. This influence is particularly striking in the work of Pere Caselles, a municipal architect who had worked with Domènech i Montaner on the Institut Pere Mata and went on to build many public and private buildings, including the Prat de la Riba school complex, the Casa Grau, the Casa Sagarra, the Casa Munné, the Casa Laguna, the Casa Tomàs dispensaire pour tuberculeux et la Casa Serra), tout comme Pere Domènech i Roura, le fils de Domènech i Montaner (Casa Marcó).
Jordi and the Casa Punyed, and some industrial buildings like the Escorxador (abattoir) and the Estació Enològica (wine institute). Outstanding among the work of the other architects who were active in Reus during this period are the work of Joan Rubió i Bellver, also from Reus and influenced by the style of Gaudí (Chalet Serra, Tuberculosis Dispensary and Casa Serra), and Pere Domènech i Roura, the son of Domènech i Montaner (Casa Marcó). But Reus was not only a home to Modernist architects.
