Plattsburgh, New York is one of the more concentrated population centers in Upstate New York. It is sited on the western coast of Lake Champlain. It is well connected to Montreal to the north, Albany to the south and Burlington, Vermont to the east.
The local airport (PLB) mostly caters to smaller airports in New York state. The larger airports in the area are, in order of vicinity: Burlington, VT (BTV) is an hour drive away; Montreal's Trudeau International (YUL) is about 1.5 hr drive; Boston's Logan International (BOS) is about 5 hours.
Michigans! A local favorite similar to a chili dog but a breed apart, the Michigan is sold in lots of places but Clare and Carl's on Rt. 9 near the Air Force Base is tops. It looks as if it will collapse if you look at it hard but you don't need to enter, it has car hops! The Michigan sauce varies from one establishment to another but it is always wise to order yours "with" (onions) and "buried" (the onions are under the chili and won't fall out). Chocolate milk is the favored accompaniment.
Absolutely! And don't foget the mustard, "buried" as well. I recommend a Hires Root Beer to wash at least two of them down.
