Osterville is a village of the town of Barnstable, on Cape Cod. It has a charming village center and beautiful beaches along Nantucket Sound.

Get in[edit]

A car is the best way to get to Osterville, and ample parking is available in the village center. Public transportation information for the town of Barnstable may be found at

Get around[edit]

The village center is centered around the intersection of Main Street and Wianno Avenue, which leads to the beaches. Walking is the most convenient means of transportation; bikes also work. There are many parking areas around the village. The principal beach, Dowses Beach, is open year round; during the summer months one needs a resident beach sticker to park, though visitors can park elsewhere and walk. It is about a 15-20 minute walk from the village center down Wianno Avenue.
