This article is an itinerary.

Oak Trail is found in Beaudry Provincial Park.

Get In[edit]

Beaudry Provincial Park is accessed by a gravel drive leading north from Provincial Road 241 west of Headingley. Use the small parking lot on the right side of the access drive before reaching the main parking area. Signs warn that vehicle permits must be displayed, but there is no way to purchase one in the park, and no specific instructions on where one can be obtained.

Planning[edit]

Trail Length 1.0 km (return)
Elevation 764 feet
Total Climbing negligable
Trail Surface Grass

GPS Waypoints[edit]

Latitude and Longitude in this table are derived from GPS measurements taken on the trail.

Waypoint Latitude Longitude
1 49° 51.534' N 97° 28.638' W
2 49° 51.388' N 97° 28.505' W
3 49° 51.399' N 97° 28.379' W
4 49° 51.396' N 97° 28.356' W

Trail Description[edit]

In this section, the bold numbers indicate total distance in kilometers from the start of the hike, while the numbers in brackets refer to a GPS waypoint in the table above.

0.0 The trail starts (1) at the information sign at the southeast corner of the parking lot. The path is wide and grassy. At 0.3 the path descends slighty and begins to follow along the shore of a small stream (2).

At (3), an unofficial trail goes straight ahead to a nice view of the Assiniboine River. The official trail turns right and crosses the stream at 0.5 (4). Unfortunately, there is currently no bridge. Low water conditions might allow hikers to cross easily, but we had no desire to wade in ankle deep water in near freezing weather, so we retraced our steps to the parking lot.

According to the park map, the trail forms a 1.0 km loop on the other side of the stream for a total distance of 2.0 km.

This itinerary is an outline and needs more content. It has a template, but there is not enough information present for it to be of real use. It was last edited on 2010-08-24 and will be deleted if not modified for one year. Please plunge forward and rescue it!
