Get in

It is best to travel by private-hire cars and taxis to Nagarkot. Tourist shuttle buses also operate. From the international airport, it should take about 40 mins and from the city center, about an hour. A scenic drive via the ancient city of Bhaktapur and tiny villages along meandering mountain roads is a journey by itself, before arriving at Nagarkot.

Get around

By foot. Everything is within walking distance in Nagarkot and there are some lovely hikes around.

See

Nagarkot, often called a hill station, used to be the summer retreat for the royals. It offers a magnificent panaromic view of the Himalayas on a clear day. There are a few monasteries and temples around and village walks are recommended too. The first boutique resort built in traditional architecture, The Fort, offers an uncontested view with excellent accommodation and dining facilities. The resort not only has its own organic garden, it boasts a wide variety of trees and flowering plants.
