The MesoAmerican Barrier Reef is the second longest barrier reef in the world, after the Great Barrier Reef off Australia's eastern coast. It stretches from the northern part of Quintana Roo, near Puerto Morales and just south of Cancun's international airport, to the coast of Honduras.
