Geneva in Switzerland is probably best known as one of the world's major centers of international diplomacy, having served as the site of the initial headquarters of the League of Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross before that. Nearby towns include Lausanne, Montreux and Chamonix.

17 July 2004 : The Romanian Wikitravel reaches 400 articles, the 400th article being about Örebro in Sweden. This comes after a slow period of almost no growth. Hopefully, the Romanian Wikitravel will pick up its growth again.

15 July 2004 : The French language Wikitravel got its 400th article as Venezuela and became the second largest Wikitravel.

14 July 2004: A major problem with editing pages on Wikitravel has been fixed.

4 May 2004: Wikitravel was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Digital Communities division of the Prix Ars Electronica. Congratulations to all Wikitravellers!
