{{newsitem|Conflict in Gaza|16 Nov 2012| The conflict between Israel and militants in the Gaza Strip has presented the first major test for Egypt’s newly elected president, as he seeks to balance close ties to Gaza’s Islamist rulers and respect for Egypt’s three-decade-old peace treaty with Israel.President Mohamed Morsi condemned Israel’s continuing air offensive against Palestinian militants in Gaza on Thursday, November 15, and ordered his prime minister to visit the embattled enclave, sounding an angrier and more confrontational tone toward Israel than has been evident from Cairo in decades. More than 250 civilians and 100 police officers have died recently as criminal gangs fight the police. It is believed this is a reaction to a crackdown on the operations of the state's largest criminal faction, and to violence used by the police to combat the group. {{newsitem| Nigeria air raids target militants |17 May 2013| The Nigerian military has launched air raids on militant training camps in the north-east of the country, officials say. An army spokesman said jets and helicopter gunships had been used to attack several camps. States of emergency were declared this week in three north-eastern states hit by Boko Haram's Islamist insurgency. Nigerian military spokesman Brig Gen Chris Olukolade said two militant bases in the Sambisa Forest Reserve were destroyed in raids. The reserve is about 70km (45 miles) south of the Borno state capital, Maiduguri, where the militants first emerged in 2009. Reports say dozens of militants have been killed, but there has been no independent confirmation. Nigerian forces are trying to regain control in the states of Adamawa, Yobe and Borno.

Sedona is a town in Arizona, United States of America, 120 miles north of Phoenix. Known for its beauty and serene setting amidst the beautiful Red Rocks, the town is famous for its vibrant arts community with nearly 100 art galleries and events. Sedona is surprisingly sprawling, with Oak Creek to the south, West Sedona and Uptown Sedona each providing great views, hikes, dining and arts. Sedona is an outstanding place to experience "new-age" left wing counterculture Americana. The locals lean far to the left of center and are welcoming to outsiders. (more...)
