Lopé National Park is in the Central Highlands region of Gabon. The Lopé-Okanda ecosystem and landscape was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2007.

The wildlife reserve was established in 1946, the first in the country.

Most of the park consists of rainforests. In the north, there is wide savannah that was created 15,000 years ago during the Ice Age.
