Les Baux de Provence is a beautiful medieval town in Provence, whose hillsides are brushed with lavender.

About

First a short quote which caracterise Les Baux perfectly! «No one passes through Les Baux without a sense of true nostalgia, for here, more than anywhere else, the labours of time show what becomes of the most ambitious undertakings: ruined walls and breaches onto the void. The stones of man’s proud constructions devoured by the sun and wind. Only traces remain of their ambition, fears and solitude.» (T.Fréchier)

  • Chateau des Baux-de-Provence [1]
  • Carrières de Lumières, previously Cathédrale d'Images, is an interesting attraction where large images are shown on a quarry wall. There are regularly new themes.

In 2013 this is "Monet, Renoir… Chagall. Voyages en Méditerranée". [2]
